TRANSLATION INDUSTRY ORGANISATIONS

Six Continents is an active member of the largest translation industry organisations in the world.
These professional bodies aim to represent translation agencies and to promote the image of the industry among customers, by promoting organisation and professionalism in our business.
Gaëtan Chretiennot, founder and director of Six Continents, is regularly asked by them to share his experience and vision as a speaker.
Six Continents is also the representative French translation company in the European Eulogia alliance. Founded in 1994, this alliance of 22 translation agencies now has over 25 years of history.
Eulogia members have to prove their credentials, as the alliance only accepts one member from each country!
To be selected, each agency has to command a sound reputation and focus on outstanding service quality in order to uphold the reputation of the alliance.
Eulogia aims to improve the sharing of knowledge, experience and expertise in the language business and therefore enable its members to collaborate closely within the translation industry.

ESSENTIAL TECHNOLOGY PLAYERS

Backed by our network including major technology players in translation, such as SDL, Kilgray and XTRF, we have a permanent and unmatched edge, giving you the guarantee of the highest level of performance in our translation services.
XTRF is the most advanced and most efficient solution for secure collaborative project management. This platform enables us to receive and instantaneously process your order, making us as responsive as you expect.
In addition, the processing pathway of translation projects is closely tracked and every step recorded and logged, meeting the strictest translation quality standards. You could even track the progress of your own project in real time.
Memsource, Trados Studio and memoQ provide the most ergonomic and efficient working environments for translators and reviewers.
We convert your translation expenditure into investment: every sentence we translate is stored in your latest-generation translation memory. Your documents become more consistent and you do not have to pay twice to translate the same sentence.
Having leading-edge systems would amount to nothing if we did not have experience in using them. Six Continents is certified for each of these solutions.
Gaëtan Chretiennot is one of the few instructors certified by the respective developers of the software packages, and teaches their use at the university.

UNIVERSITIES

Gaëtan Chretiennot is one of the few instructors certified by the respective developers of the software packages, and teaches their use at Strasbourg and Mulhouse universities as part of the CAWEB and TCLoc Masters degree courses!
For her part, Peggy Santerre teaches students preparing for a Master’s degree in technical translation at Aix-Marseille University.
She applies her experience in project management and guides students through case studies to give them the most practical support possible towards their future career. She does so by telling them about the various trades within translation agencies or in companies with a dedicated translation department.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS

Peggy Santerre was appointed Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur [foreign trade adviser) by French Ministerial Decree of 17 August 2016.
French foreign trade advisers (CCE) volunteer their experience to support the development of France in four ways:

ADVICE TO PUBLIC AUTHORITIES

SUPPORT TO BUSINESSES
INTERNATIONAL TRAINING OF YOUNG PEOPLE
PROMOTING FRANCE OVERSEAS
Peggy Santerre is Vice-President of APEX.
As a leading exporters’ association of southern France, APEX brings together companies of all sizes and industries and offers them active support for their international development.

We are experts in translation, of course, but also members of the network of Dirigeants Commerciaux de France (DCF – French sales leaders), giving us a title in the area of sales management.
We are particularly pleased to share our expertise in the marketing of services and in supporting businesses as they take up their international challenges.

She has since also joined the Rézoé network, created in Strasbourg in 2012, a local organisation working in Alsace with members drawn from the ranks of women entrepreneurs.
Her ambition is to encourage mutual support and diversity between talented women in all walks of life, driven by the desire to create businesses.
For more than 10 years, the Femmes de l’Économie awards have spotlighted female entrepreneurship across French regions.
Through business events that celebrate the values of equality, networking, innovation, inclusion and commitment, the Femmes de l’Économie awards boost the careers of women entrepreneurs, act as a springboard for young business creators and encourage women with new projects to take the first steps.
After carrying off the Femmes de l’Economie international award at the Annual Meeting in 2015 in her previous company, Peggy Santerre has maintained close ties with this women’s network that means a lot to her.
